GO Tennis leagues are designed to give players meaningful matches, flexible scheduling, and a competitive postseason experience.
Entry Fee: $20 per season
Eligibility: Adults only (18+)
League Structure: Round-robin play
Postseason: All players will qualify for the playoff tournament, with seeding based on regular season results
Awards: Playoff tournament champion will receive a trophy
Tennis Balls: Players provide their own balls
The exact number of matches will depend on league registration numbers and may vary from season to season.
League play follows a round-robin format, allowing players to compete against multiple opponents throughout the season.
To create the best possible experience, players may be grouped by skill level when registration numbers allow. Our goal is to create vompetitive and enjoyable matchups for everyone.
A refund will be issued if you are not scheduled for at least 4 league matches due to insufficient participation.
Every player will qualify for the postseason.
At the conclusion of regular season play:
Players will be seeded based on regular season results
A true seeding system will be used whenever possible
The playoffs will determine league champion
The league champion will recieve a GO Tennis trophy
Depending on league size, the playoff format may include byes.
All matches are played as a best of three sets.
Third Set
By default, if players split the first two sets:
A 10-point match tiebreak will be played in place of a full third set
However, a traditional full third set may be played if agreed upon by both players prior to the start of the third set.
If a traditional third set is agreed upon, and reaches a game score of 6-6 then a 10-point match tiebreak must be played
For each scheduled match, one player will be designated as the "home player."
The home player is responsible for:
Selecting match location
Reserving courts if reservations are required
Supplying tennis balls for the match
These must be an unopened can of tennis balls
Initiating scheduling communications
The home player must contact the opponent "the visiting player" first and provide:
At least three available playing opportunities
Different days and/or times during the match week
Players are expected to communicate promptly and make a reasonable effort to complete matches.
Recommended Start Times:
Monday through Friday
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturday through Sunday
9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Players may agree to play outside these windows if both are willing.
Match Window
Each match must be played during its assigned week.
If a match cannot be completed during that week, it may be made up during the following week. A player may therefore play two matches during a week if necessary.
If scheduling becomes difficult:
The home player must provide at least three reasonable scheduling options.
The opponent must also provide at least three reasonable scheduling options, if they cannot attend the home player's proposed times.
If both players have provided three valid options and cannot find a mutually agreeable time, the match will automatically be scheduled on the final day of the assigned match week.
If a player consistently cannot accommodate reasonable scheduling opportunities due to a restrictive or unusual schedule, that player may be assigned a default loss.
The expectation is that both players will work in good faith to complete matches.
Each player receives one Late Pass per season.
A Late Pass may be used when:
Both players have exchanged reasonable availability,
Neither player can meet during those available times, and
The match cannot be completed during the normal makeup period.
The Late Pass allows the match to be rescheduled beyone the standard makeup week.
Additional extensions are not guaranteed, and the Late Pass cannot extended outside of the regular season.
Players are expected to maintain reliable communication throughout the season.
League communication may occur through:
Phone (text)
GO Tennis GroupMe (when applicable)
Player who are not in the GroupMe may be invited to join for easier scheduling and league announcements.
A player may be defaulted if:
They arrive more than 20 minutes late without agreement from their opponent.
They repeatedly fail to communicate.
They refuse reasonable scheduling opportunities.
Their schedule prevents completion of league matches.
No refunds will be issued to players who miss a substaintial portion of their matches.
GO Tennis is built around competitive play, fair opportunities, and respect for fellow players. We expect all participants to uphold these standards by making reasonable efforts to schedule matches, communicate clearly, and maintain friendly competition.
League administrators reserve the right to interpret and enforce these rules in situations not specifically covered above.
